FRRR Strengthening Rural Communities Program
The Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) is a national not-for-profit organisation that harnesses the power of collective investment between government, business and philanthropy to improve the lives of those living in rural, regional and remote Australia.
FRRR’s vision is for vibrant, sustainable and adaptive communities across rural, regional and remote Australia.
FRRR strongly believes that local people are best placed to know what is going to work best in their communities, so they focus on investing in local community-driven projects.
FRRR’s Strengthening Rural Communities program (formerly known as Small Grants for Rural Communities) is one of the longest running and broadest program FRRR offers. Since its inception the program has supported hundreds of small communities and invested millions of dollars into local projects.
Kofi Foundation has partnered with FRRR on its Strengthening Rural Communities program through its “Small and Vital Grants” stream, and selects three applicants per year to fund depending on Kofi’s current grant focus.
Applications are available via the normal Strengthening Rural Communities process. The Kofi Foundation participates in the annual September quarter application round, awarding grants in December.
You can access more information, including how and when to apply, via the FRRR website.
