Project Description
Documentary Australia Foundation: Good Pitch
Documentary Australia Foundation (DAF) is Australia’s only not-for-profit organisation that fosters social change through documentary storytelling.
DAF supports powerful documentaries by placing them at the heart of social impact campaigns, and surrounds them with discerning funders, not-for-profits, educators, policy-makers and communities.
The DAF mission is: We exist to raise awareness, create empathy and inspire action on important social issues. By connecting independent documentary filmmakers with likeminded individuals and organisations on the front-lines of social change, we amplify the impact of each documentary to encourage compassion, activism and social transformation.
Through DAF’s ‘Good Pitch’ events, the Kofi Foundation has contributed financially to two powerful documentaries:
- Prison Songs, a documentary musical made in 2014 during the last days of the operation of Darwin’s Berrimah Prison, the largest correctional centre in the NT
- Ghosthunter, about a Western Sydney security guard and part-time ghost hunter searching for his absent father.
